Question to Bree: What's this obsession with self-improvement?

What's this obsession with self improvement? If you're not improving yourself every single day, then what are you doing? Why are you living? Are you living? What is your end goal?  What is your main purpose in life? Why do you live? I want to be the best version of myself. I want to not be the best person in the room but the hardest worker in the room. I want to show other people that you don't have to be born rich.  You can get rich by outworking people. You can get rich by working on yourself. Discovering what you love. Discovering what you can give to others. You can be rich. Monetarily rich. But not just that rich.  Rich in life. Rich in purpose. Rich in positivity. I don't want to be one of the many soulless people I see on the trains or in the buses. Yes, maybe when they're at work, they're living their purpose. But off work, they're zombies. They give so much at work, they've lost their lives. Who are they without work? I want me to be the same m

What's the one thing you absolutely have to do in your day?

I stopped writing for a while now.  5 days to be exact. There's a post in my drafts. 11 days since I published anything. Life has gone on great. I rested my eyes, listened to podcasts, learnt, created, engaged a little on Twitter, bouldered (!!), hanged out with friends and family.  Life's been pretty great. But I miss writing. It's that little tiny nagging voice that says "Hello, you haven't written today" whenever I don't open up blogger to pen my thoughts after my shower.  Or it's that whisper of "You don't like writing anymore?" from the best friend in my head. Write.  Because you have to. Because you want to.  Because you love to do it. Why do anything if not for the sake of loving it?  I'm not saying it has to be writing.  What's your thing ?   What's the thing you absolutely have to do in your day and then you lie in bed staring at the ceiling before bed and go.. "Ah, I love today." because you did it.

90 Days to Greatness Progress Reflection: Day 8

I'm an all or nothing kind of girl. When I do get up before 7.30 a.m., I make myself the most productive b*tch. I'll fill my little gaps of time with hand-washing my brassieres, reading, and basically doing all that productive stuff. And then I'll still try to complete everything that is needed on the list even though I am absolutely exhausted by 11.37 p.m. So it's no surprise what comes next. Burn out. And then I wake up the next day feeling like I just ran a marathon and need a full week of rest.  I mean, why won't I feel that way? I just pushed myself to my limits the day before.  Packing my day up from 7.15 all the way till 11.37 p.m. Why do I do it?  The sense of satisfaction it gives.  Will I do it again? Maybe not.  Targeting good sleep for the 17th - 23rd July week.  Sleeping by 10.45 p.m and waking up at 7.15 a.m.  Ok let's go.

Are you proud of you today?

If your answer is yes.  That's all that matters. If your answer is no, what can you do better tomorrow? If you strive to be proud of yourself every single day, you're on the right path. Congratulations! You are an awesome human being. --- I'm proud of you today Brienne. (:

How do you get up at the time you said you would? (for the self-employed)

I've been struggling with this for a few weeks now.  I didn't have an answer. Then I asked the shower gods as I showered today.  For those of you who get creative ideas in the shower, you know what I mean ;) Shower God Bree answered "You can't get up before 7.30 a.m. everyday because you don't have something important to get up for." Oh wow , I thought. What she said is exactly right! Ok, then what's important? I asked. And she questioned me back, "Isn't Everest Base Camp something important to you?" Ahh. It is. And I haven't got the time to train for it because I've been sleeping. ;/ Thank you Shower God Bree.

How do you set yourself up for success?

1. Start the night before Give yourself a good bed time so you will get up at the time you want the next day. Getting up at the same time everyday helps a lot too (according to sleep expert Matt Walker ).  Watch from Start to 6:39 here for more information. 2. Habit stack your goals Every time I get up, I'll drink half a litre of water. Then I'll go for a wee and get back into bed to do a meditation. When I get up at 7.30 a.m., I am more likely to meditate too. It comes as part of a habit stack. If I don't (get up early), I often don't meditate because I have to rush for the next appointment. Actually looking at it this way is kinda cool. When I do one, I'll do both. If I don't, I'll do none.  Starting is difficult. Every single day, I can sit down and study. But I don't. When you have a thousand and one things to do other than studying, sitting down to open Chrome to open up a tab is difficult. But I never regret listening to a few minutes of Alan Sharp

Who are you?

Strip the titles of a wife, mother, what you do for work, whether you're a CEO or just a marketing intern and all your accolades, who are you? I'm a person who strives to listen and give support because I've struggled a long time ago and I wish someone knew or if they knew, they'd know how to help me.  I'm a person who tries, who loves a challenge because the Universe gives its strongest warriors the toughest adversaries. I'm a person who loves, all people, all living things and everything and sees no fault in others. People are . I'm in the camp where every human is good until they're proven otherwise. I'm a person who sees each individual as a unique, beautiful being. Children, they are the blessings to the world we live in. They did something wrong? They probably were not taught and it's our duty to teach them. I'm a person who sees the potential in you. Want to climb Everest? I'm your cheerleader. Wanna build a business? I'll see

Developing Unbreakable Self-Discipline with Ed Mylett

Ed Mylett spoke about creating momentum and how he does it is by making the bed every morning, chugging water first thing when he wakes and laying out his clothes the night before. People are not disciplined. They create structures to make them look disciplined. He also talked about how people say he's still working so hard at his age but he says he isn't because he's created habits for those things.  If he doesn't work out one day, that's when he feels uneasy. Because he has made it a habit. It's no longer about whether he feels like working out. He's created a habit so he has to do it or he'll feel weird about it. Waking up before 730 is still difficult for me because I haven't made it a habit.  I want to. That's the time the ideal me gave me. Waking up at 730, washing my face, getting a meditation in, making my bed. Trainings on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Slow and easy movements on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Walks on Sundays wi

What is my goal with writing on the blog (almost) everyday?

Exercise my creativity muscles. Show my online persona. Be findable online and build my online presence. Monetise in the future? 😁 Share what I've learnt and build a platform where others can learn something too. Allow future clients to 'see' me before working with me.  Consolidate my learning so I have a space to go to when I need inspiration. Build a writing habit. Build a 'home' online.  Inspire others to start writing. --- If you have a blog, why do you write in it? Share me with your goals for this year!  Comment below or dm me on Twitter .  Have a lovely day you lovely human! 💚
