#39 Gratitude

This morning I thought, "No one told me to write on the weekends, I myself didn't think that my weekends would be made of these." And yet I do it just because I feel I need to, I just want to do it, it gives me a great sense of purpose. I wonder, is this what Brian Tracy meant when he said "When you start doing what you love to do, you will never work another day in your life"? Stuff I've learnt this week:  1. Never stop learning.  Attended a dialogue session (Mindset and Learning - Nature or Nurture) by the Institute of Adult Learning Singapore and learnt about how there are different types of modern learners (see  Ms. Kang So-Young's   slides ), how to cultivate a strategic mindset (see  Dr. Patricia Chen's slides ) and being inspired by So-Young's story of how her father never stopped learning even till old age.  2. Gratitude. I listen to guided meditations on Insight Timer  and I like one of the reminders towards the end of the session. It&

#38 Only human

Typing the title got to be one of the hardest things I've done today. It's like finding an excuse for myself for not having written since the 4th July.  I have another post sitting in my drafts that I forgot about but I choose to type a new post instead of retracing my thoughts and putting myself back into the headspace when I typed that one out.  I wrote in my planner at the start of the week to blog on Sunday. I'm happy to be doing just that right now.   "Either you put it in your calendar or it doesn't get done" , "Plan it to do it" , or the famous one "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail" by Benjamin Franklin. These quotes seem so apt right now.  This week,  I've experienced the frustrations of children not understanding a certain subject when I tried to make the background of a photo white using Photoshop. I've chased the sunset for a photo and realised that if you miss a moment, it's gone forever.  I've learnt that
